G.I. Gudjieff (1877-1949) was born in Alexandropol, Russia and trained as both a priest and a physician. He traveled for 20 years in Central Asia seeking the mysteries of life and went on to become one of the most controversial and influential teachers of the century. His books include Meetings With Remarkable Men and Views from the Real World.
